JUSTICE IN FRONTIER OREGON, 1851-1905

March 13, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. Libraries of Eastern Oregon, (LEO) will sponsor author and historian , Diane Goerse-Gardner to do a presentation on Oregon history.  "Just over 100 years ago, many Oregon cities held public executions with men, women and children congregating to watch convicted criminals hang from gallows erected in local fields."  The presentation is about the acceptance of this kind of justice in Oregon.   Community Room, Cook Memorial Library, 2006 Fourth Street, La Grande, OR.    541-962-1339.
