Morgan Lake Dam Repair Photos
As a result of the heavy rains during the latter part of May, 2011, the small saddle dam on the west side of Morgan Lake began to seep. The dam was built in 1903, by the CalPac Company for the purpose of generating electricity. Parks Director Mark Touhey implemented temporary measures to stabilize the dam. During the last two weeks of October, 2011, with recommendations from the Oregon State Dam Safety Inspector, the dam was excavated six feet deep, and recompacted. The lake-side face of the dam was rearmored with rip rap rock, and the roadway across the top of the dam was resurfaced with 3/4 inch crushed rock.
